Kazaa seems to be in the epicentre of the reto-fit culture. The online population - and in particular the Kazaa online population - don't seem to accept what they get out of the box. They like to change stuff, customise stuff, hack stuff. It is little wonder that we probably have the most hacked software on the planet.

So, I am wondering if this is related to why it is so cool to be able to easily change stuff in MSN Messenger like your alias, your image, your backgrounds, etc.

What can we add to future Kazaas that will IMPLICITLY allow users to pull it to pieces and put it back together again how they like it? Instead of having a problem with it and spending so much time preventing it, define a class of things that should be changable and let the users rip...
