Podcasting: The Daily Source Code Technorati icon

March 10, 2005 | Filed under:

Adam Curry's The Daily Source Code is a podcast that is a delightful blend of podcast evangelisation and daily grind banalities and is becoming an essential part of my day. With a 45 minute drive to work, Adam Curry takes the edge off my day and usually signs off exactly as I pull into the garage.

What I like about Podcasting is the theatricality and how you can get to know the person a bit.

Blogs and RSS feeds are quite intellectual and often philosophical. The people that write them are hidden behind the words. The idea is stronger than the character. THis mode has many advantages of course. Usually I want to interact directly with an idea and practically I want to be able to 'speed read' as I do with my feeds each day.

Podcasting needs a greater time commitment and is far less 'efficient' at getting the idea across. But the capacity for a podcast to communicate the context behind an idea (often so very important) is far greater than text.
