Hedlund Reads Yahoo 360 (Clay Shirky)

I was discussing Grouper with some friends today and expressed the view that it was very interesting software but I had no desire to use it. This article made me realise why I took that position. The clincher:

...this ‘proprietary standards and messaging’ weakness will prevent 360 from becoming a complete digital hub.

I don't want to be forced to use one tool, I definately don't want to lock my friends into using one tool so that they can enjoy my stuff.
