Link: When viewed through the filter of The Long Tail, DRM is counter to what users want. Terrabytes of interesting, user-created stuff is created each day that creators want to share and others want to experience. Podcasts, videoblogs, blogs, photos, mashups... Every day a new tool is created to bring professional-enough quality content creation to the masses and yet forces are gathering to make the distribution of these files harder through various forms of DRM (Digital Rights Management). Certainly these trends are conflicting.
