Avalon to go Cross Platform Technorati icon

Only yesterday I had a discussion at work about the direction I would take if I was choosing a UI strategy having seen Avalon in action as part of Microsoft Max application. The answer: Probably to give up on cross-platform UI development, put as much logic as possible into a cross-platform C++ services layer and then write custom UI layers for each OS.  Avalon just looks too good now to avoid using for windows users. Any other approach will look ‘old-fashioned’.  Microsoft’s new move to make this layer cross-platform is very smart…  It means I can feel even better about developing for Avalon, knowing that I may be able to port other operating system versions using it also.
